Product stewardship is our priority. Prior to new products entering the marketplace, we carefully consider their effect on the health and safety of our customers, employees, the communities where we operate, as well as their impact on the environment.
Our stage gate process for new product development includes a comprehensive evaluation of product health, safety and regulatory compliance, as well as environmental impacts of the product. These factors play critical roles in our decisions to continue with the development or manufacture of materials on a commercial scale.
Our commitment to product safety and compliance continues after the commercial launch of a new product. Safety is evaluated as products are used in new applications, and compliance obligations are addressed as new regulatory requirements are introduced, such as the European Union Regulation Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (EU REACH). We have compiled an EU REACH Only Representative communication package for your convenience.
Our products are utilized in a wide variety of applications globally. They are subject to international chemical control and use-specific requirements. To assist you with understanding the compliance status of our products, we have developed a library of product specific certifications and declaration statements. In addition, we encourage you to visit our Material / Safety Data Sheet (M/SDS) library to learn more about procedures for handling and working with our products in a safe manner.
As a component of our product stewardship obligations related to our membership in the American Chemical Council's Responsible Care® program, we have published global product stewardship summaries for our key products, and through our leadership of the International Carbon Black Association (ICBA), a comprehensive carbon black user guide has been published.
